It can be quite stressful to spend a lot of time working. It can particularly stressful, though, to be fixating on the same problems all the time. You turn up day in and day out and bang your head against a wall until you feel like you have made some progress. It is crucial, though, to take some time to give you perspective on the problem itself. Your clients might not appreciate you leaving their accounts early or for a couple of days, but they’ll appreciate the better work you produce after the break.
By giving your brain a chance to reset you give yourself a chance to give yourself a fresh perspective on a problem. That time away will allow you to refocus and maybe approach your work issues from a different angle. You’ll be much more use to your boss, your colleagues and your business if you learn to refresh yourself and spend a bit of time getting away from it all.
